This is the element of your gutter system that prevents water from running down the side of your home. Over time this can cause damage to your walls and create visible spots of rot in areas where the roof meets the sidewall.

Deteriorating Shingles

Finding a small amount of granules in your gutter during maintenance is perfectly normal. However, if the rain is pulling down a significant amount of granules into the gutter, it is usually a strong indicator that your shingles are losing their protective coating and may need to be replaced.
